my Family the raos
"You can’t build a tradition without your family and your heritage. In the upper right-hand corner are my grandparents and parents! The generations continue, as you can see in these photos: all my cousins are in the bottom photo, and my immediate nieces, nephews, and children are in the upper left-hand photo. These are the original Italians who established Little Italy in Baltimore!
If you visit Little Italy today, the Italian statue recognizes the original families who came to the city. You will see my grandparents' names on that statue along with other family members. The black-and-white photo is from a Baltimore newspaper article featuring my uncles and relatives who came from Italy to chase the American dream. Many of them opened restaurants to share our culture and culinary delights with our friends and the community."

he too is from Italy - well his mom is, lol
Taste of Italy MFG was founded in 2007 by Pat McKenna in Mullica Hill, NJ. Pat wanted to bring authentic Sicilian Arancini to the US after a trip to Ganzirri. He fell in love with these delicious appetizers or meals. So, he built an entire company to share hus love of this traditional Italian delight with America. To be honest I had no idea what they were until I met Pat who introduced them to me. I lived in Livorno Italy for 4 years and my grandparents were borne in Italy and raised in Italy and I never heard pf them. So, please try them and let us know what you think.
Arancini are traditional Italian, specifically Sicilian, stuffed rice balls that are breaded and deep-fried until golden brown. Originating as a way to use leftover risotto, these popular, crispy-on-the-outside snacks often feature creamy centers filled with mozzarella, ragù (meat sauce), peas, or béchamel sauce, commonly served with marinara. They originated in 10th-century Sicily and are a staple of Sicilian Street food, often enjoyed during the feast of Santa Lucia. The name means "little oranges" due to their color and shape after frying.
The company specializes in high-quality frozen Italian appetizers—like Arancini, Pazotti, and Stromboli—operating a USDA and SQF-certified facility focusing on traditional, homemade-style.... food. Pat’s Italian heritage comes from his mother side the from Ganzirri, Sicily.

our bread from Atlantic city he's from Italy
1919
Francesco Formica opened the bakery with his wife Rosa bringing his legendary hand-crafted loaves of bread to Atlantic City from Italy.

Francesco moved the bakery to its current location - 2310 Arctic Avenue.
1939 - 1945
Business took off during World War II when soldiers who traveled through Atlantic City made the “sub” marine sandwich popular thereby increasing the demand for great Italian bread. After the war Mario, Frank and Dominic “Tar” Formica took over the business from their father.
1987
Frank D. Formica, Mario’s son, purchased the business from his uncles.
January 2022

FaNTINI'S another Italian from Tuscany
Jim Fantini grew up in New Haven on Wooster Street and began his career at age 15 as a dishwasher at Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana. Through dedication and hard work, he mastered every position in the restaurant, ultimately earning the respected title of Pizza Man.
Trained by old-school masters in the traditional New Haven way, Jim crafts authentic Apizza the way it was meant to be made — by hand, not by machine. Fantini’s Apizza is about tradition, quality, and delivering a superior product rooted in heritage.
What Is Apizza?
Apizza (pronounced ah-beetz) is the legendary pizza style born in New Haven. It is known for:
• A thin, hand-stretched, elliptical crust
• A signature char developed in ultra-high heat ovens
• Bold, balanced flavor with a crisp yet tender bite
Our Fire-Finished Method
We proudly serve Jim Fantini’s authentic New Haven Apizza, stone-finished to order in our TurboChef Fire oven.
Reaching temperatures up to 842°F, the TurboChef Fire delivers intense top-and-bottom heat on a stone deck — recreating the blistered crust, char, and artisan finish of a traditional coal-fired oven.
Each apizza is fire-finished fresh for you.
